We are like the US Post Office: We're not actively looking for these classmates due to the huge amount of work involved. If you move and don't tell the US Post Office, you don't get your mail. If you would like to look for them, or hire someone to do so, please feel free to do so. If you have CONFIRMED addresses for these people (you've spoken to them on the phone or in person, or received e-mail from them), please forward the address information to Dave Morton or one of the others on the committee, and indicate how you confirmed the address. Otherwise, it will not be recorded. We do not want unconfirmed addresses, as the address you have found may be for someone else with the SAME NAME - not our CHS grad. It happens all the time. For example, there is a "Satoshi Sato" living on the East Coast. Is this our classmate?? I don't know. Call him and find out. Satoshi Sato was a foreign exchange student from Japan, and probably returned there after his senior year at Central. Did he move back to the States later? Doubtful... If you can confirm that it's really him, let us know, and we'll update his address. Perhaps the AFS office in Washington DC has his current address. The address would still need to be CONFIRMED by phone call or e-mail or in-person conversation, and we need to be sure it's our classmate. **** NEWS FLASH - AUGUST 2006 **** Satoshi "Bin" Sato has been found by John Hundley living in Tokyo, Japan. The info was provided by the family he lived with while attending Central (Jane Rollwagen). Satoshi is a director at a construction company in Tokyo, and lives in the section of Tokyo called "Akasaka" in the Minato-ku ward. In the Akasaka section are many corporate headquarters, expensive restaurants, and several embassies including the American embassy. Nearby are Tokyo Tower, the Imperial Palace, and the Ginza and Roppongi sections of Tokyo. ********************************** Teresa Saraiva e Sous Vinhas Cabrita ("Tess"), the AFS student from Portugal, was recently located in Portugal by Gerry McCloud and phoned! Gerry later visited Tess in the summer of 2006. We now have her CONFIRMED address and phone number. Tess does not have e-mail. If the classmate lives in an apartment building or condo, we need the APARTMENT NUMBER. The Post Office will not deliver mail to such an address without an apartment number, and Reunion Invitations will be returned by the Post Office as "Undeliverable As Addressed". So get the apartment or condo number, please. CLASSMATES.COM has been used in an attempt to locate missing classmates with limited success. We do not plan to use CLASSMATES.COM, or any similar web-based service - in the future. Many classmates are not exactly Missing: They are HIDING or have OTHER FRIENDS and interests after being out of touch for 40+ years. This is not a crime and may make plenty of sense if you're able to talk to them. In some cases, they may feel a stronger bond with their grade school friends, college friends, Army buddies, co-workers, extended family, children, grandchildren, computers, pets, horses, etc. In other cases, life may have been very unkind to them... Some of us have been trying to HIDE for over 40 years, but they keep FINDING US and make us attend the Central reunions - and even force some of us to work on the Reunion Committee for free!! But for those who do attend their first Central reunion, if they can find just one or two old friends to connect with in a meaningful way, I think they have a rewarding experience. After all, we were teenagers together, but we're all grown up now, I think...
